A film and comic convention will be held in the Tropicana this summer, with special guest stars and displays set to delight fans of science fiction.

After the success of Dismaland – an exhibition put on by street artist Banksy at the Tropicana last year – the dilapidated former pool has been reinvented as an events space.

There have been theatre performances and concerts at the venue, with more events planned including a food festival.

The latest event to be added to the show’s bill is the Stars Of Time film and comic convention, which will take place in August.

Special guests for the weekend include actor Clem So, who appeared in Doctor Who and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Colin Baker, who played the sixth doctor in Doctor Who.

This year, the event’s organisers have also managed to secure a visit from Peter Davison, the actor who played the fifth doctor in Doctor Who.

There will also be a charity auction of rare cinema posters, lightsaber combat displays, illustrators, fancy dress competitions and a licensed bar.

On display will be the Delorean from Back To The Future, the Batmobile from the recent Christian Bale trilogy, various superhero suits and collectables.

The Stars Of Time will be at the Tropicana on August 28-29 from 10.30am-5.30pm.

Tickets for either day cost £3-6 or £15-16 for a family ticket and are available from

There will also be a limited number of tickets, priced £10, available on the door.

We have teamed up with Stars Of Time to offer four lucky readers the chance to win a family ticket to the event, for two adults and up to three children.
