Odeon tickets up for grabs

27 October 2009

Zombieland (15) does what it says on the tin and should get film fans in the mood for Halloween.

The comedy horror stars Cheers and Natural Born Killers star Woody Harrelson as the fearless Tallahassee, and The Village actor Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus, who is scared of just about everything.

When they find they are the only survivors in a world overrun by zombies, the unlikely duo have to face their biggest fear - each other.

In the same mould as Shaun of the Dead and Lesbian Vampire Killers, Zombieland also stars Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin.

Written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and directed by Ruben Fleischer, the film has succeeded Shaun of the Dead to become the biggest selling zombie film in history.

* This Is It (PG), a documentary of Michael Jackson's final days, is showing every day next week at Weston's Odeon cinema.

Fans of the King of Pop, can witness the rehearsal footage shot while preparing for his sold out comeback concerts which would have been held this summer at London's O2 Arena.

The film goes behind-the-scenes between April this year until his untimely demise from a cardiac arrest less than three weeks before the shows would have started.

The film also includes interviews with some of his closest friends.

Captured in high definition, with state-of-the art digital sound, the film offers fans a front row seat to the star's last performance and pays tribute to the legend's extraordinary life.

The film will only be shown next week.

* The Weston and Somerset Mercury has teamed up with the Odeon to offer five lucky readers the chance to win a pair of tickets to see a film of their choice, subject to availability.

To enter the competition, simply answer the following question: Which film did Zombieland beat to become the biggest selling zombie film of all time?

Usual Archant Rules apply and the editor's decision is final. Please check availability with Weston Odeon box office before arriving with your winning tickets.
