Networking to help...

3rd April 2008

Weston Chamber of Trade and Commerce members.
SUPPORT, guidance and networking are all part of being a member of the Chamber of Trade and Commerce.
The group offers business owners in North Somerset and Woodspring the chance to meet up, swap tips and build up their contacts.
It also provides support and advice for all kinds of businesses, whether they are just starting up or need developing.
Chamber chairman Dave Wallace said: “By introducing members to each other it means they can create opportunities to work together and also improve their customer base.
“At our meetings everyone gets the chance to put their views forward and we try our best to pass their queries on to the relevant authorities.”
The chamber’s monthly meetings have, in the past, included talks about Weston’s Dolphin Square development as well as the Tropicana.
Groups such as The Environmental Network of North Somerset have also given talks on their work and how they could cooperate with businesses.
Mr Wallace said: “Our main aim is to promote companies in the area and encourage people to use nearby suppliers and service providers.
“If we do not have the right information they need then we will pass them on to the people that can help.
“We can also look into issues that busy traders may not have the time to deal with themselves.”
The chamber collaborates with others in Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire in order to share information and so they can work together on certain issues and make their voices heard.
