Variety is the spice of life

THE Cotswold Wildlife Park remains one of the region’s most popular venues for all age groups and lovers of the English countryside, animals and gardens.
There is a wide variety of exciting and interesting wildlife to be seen in the 140 acres of landscaped parkland in Burford, Oxfordshire.
The park holds one of the most varied zoological collections in the UK - in excess of 1,500 individual animals of 260 different species and including a number not found in any other collection in the country.
Staff members are looking forward to the arrival of wolves in a few weeks time and two-toed sloths should be in the Tropical House for Easter. The Tropical House is also home to the beautiful S pigeon, the Cotswold wildlife Park achieving the first hatching of this bird in Britain last year.
The gardens are a delight and a surprise. After extensive development over the last few years and several complimentary write-ups in prestigious magazines, including The English Garden, and Gardeners’ World, many visitors return to them several times.
As the gardens change with the seasons, to include beautiful Spring flowers and stunning exuberant displays in the summer, there is so much to see. The landscaping is picturesque and within the walled garden there is a whole host of surprises.
Businesses can hold relaxing conferences and away-days for training purposes in the drawing room of the Manor House, a room with a view across to rhinos and zebras. Access can be arranged from 8.30am.
Facilities are excellent with a large self-service restaurant, picnic areas, narrow-gauge railway, children’s adventure playground and award winning toilets including a purpose built unisex disabled toilet block.
Rates are very competitive, with reduced rates for groups and free parking. For more details visit the website www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk or call (01993) 823006 and request a free leaflet.
