Weston goes pop... for a second time!

POP superstars will strut their stuff on Weston’s seafront once again this summer in another high profile televised concert.

Tens of thousands of pop fans are expected to descend on the resort on June 18 for T4 on the Beach. Last year, 26,000 people came to Weston for the concert, pumping £3m into the local economy.

Seafront performances by stars like Rachel Stevens, the Kaiser Chiefs and Akon were beamed around the country on Channel 4.

North Somerset Council’s destination manager, Julia Stuckey, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled. The £3m generated over the weekend last year was an enormous boost. Tourism is really important to North Somerset and this event will be the icing on the cake.

“Weston looked gorgeous on television in 2005 and hotels and seafront businesses have reported that people had heard about the town because of T4.”
