THE following cases were heard before North Somerset magistrates between June 8-18:

• Martin Snellgrove (38), of Burton Row, Brent Knoll. Exceeding 70mph speed limit. Fined £600, licence endorsed with five penalty points and ordered to pay £35 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

• Shaun Breedon (38), of Locking Road, Weston. Failure to surrender to bail: No separate penalty. Using threatening or abusive words or behaviour: Ordered to pay £50 compensation and £60 costs.

• Ryan Briscoe (18), of St Ives Road, Weston. Using threatening or abusive words or behaviour: 12-month community order with 16-week curfew requirement and ordered to pay £60 costs.

• Stacey Leeroth (23), of Brompton Road, Weston. Dangerous driving: 12-month community order with unpaid work requirement and disqualified from driving for 12 months. Drink driving: 12-month community order with unpaid work requirement, disqualified from driving for 15 months and ordered to pay £60 costs. Failure to report a road accident: No separate penalty. Failure to stop a moving vehicle: No separate penalty. Failure to stop at a road accident. No separate penalty.

• Brian Graham (65), of West End Farm Caravan Park, Locking. Drink driving: Fined £440, disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £60 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

• Gary Jory (46), of Dartmouth Close,     Worle. Drink driving: Fined £100 and disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £60 costs and £15 victim surcharge. Using a handheld mobile phone while driving: Fined £35.

• Michael Merrill (35), of Axbridge Road, Cheddar. Drink driving:  Fined £180 and disqualified from driving for 18 months. Failure to stop at an accident: Fined £180 and ordered to pay £60 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

• Joshua Collard (20), of Oxford Street, Weston. Assault by beating: Fined £240 and ordered to pay £100 compensation, £60 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

• Mark Rowlands (37), of Brent Close, Weston. Drink driving: Fined £100, disqualified from driving for 20 months and ordered to pay £60 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

• Leigh Sage (41), of Ankatel Close, Weston. Drink driving: 12-month community order with unpaid work requirement, disqualified from driving for 28 months and ordered to pay £60 costs.

• David Porter (36), of Alfred Street, Weston. Failure to surrender to bail: Fined £25 and ordered to pay costs of £60 and £15 victim surcharge. Theft: Six-month conditional discharge.

• Gary Blake (48), of Constable Drive, Weston. Drink driving: Fined £160, disqualified from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay £60 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

• Derek Caiger (60), of Gordon Road, Weston. Assaulting a police officer: Six-month conditional discharge. Using threatening or abusive words or behaviour: Six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £60 costs.

• Mark Wederell (36), of Graham Road, Weston. Exceeding 30mph speed limit: Fined £310 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

• Andrew Adams (37), of Union Street, Cheddar. Drink driving: 12-month community order, disqualified from driving for 12 months and ordered to pay £60 costs.

• Ben Cleaves (24), of Oxford Street, Burnham. Criminal damage. 12-month conditional discharge, ordered to pay £5 compensation and £60 costs. Criminal damage: 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
