In gear for Sunshine Radio

20th September 2007
ANOTHER supporter has been seen gearing up to help a Weston charity.
The Dunkeswell Race Circuit in Devon, owned by the former Formula One world champion Nigel Mansell, was the setting for this week’s Sunshine Radio picture.
The driver of the 250cc go-kart, known only as Sunshine Stig (pictured above), clocked a top speed of 121mph down the straight.
He said “I know Devon isn’t the most exotic location for the photo but I thought I could show my support for Sunshine Radio by claiming an unofficial land speed record in one of the T-shirts.”
Sunshine Radio launched its fund-raising scheme, called Taking Over The World, earlier this year and is asking members of the public to buy one of its T-shirts and then have their picture taken wearing it somewhere interesting across the globe.
Supporters can now win a Virgin voucher and choose from a range of exciting experiences by supporting the charity.
To be in with a chance of bagging the prize wear an official Sunshine Radio Taking Over The World T-Shirt in front of a well known or interesting location, anywhere in the world.
If anyone is interested in helping with the campaign they should send any photographs to: Sunshine Radio Campaign, Weston & Somerset Mercury, 32 Waterloo Street, Weston, BS23 1LW or e-mail them to newsdesk@thewestonmercury.co.uk
Log onto the Sunshine Radio website at www.sunshinehospitalradio.co.uk for more details.
T-shirts are available from Clobber at 17, Meadow Street, Weston, or can be ordered online through the Sunshine Hospital Radio website.
You can also phone Charity T-shirts directly on 0117 9029845.
