Couple join campaign
8th November 2007
A CHARITY supporter showed how to live life on the edge - of the equator.
Sunshine Radio launched its fund-raising scheme called Taking Over The World earlier this year and is asking members of the public to buy one of its T-shirts and then have their picture taken wearing it somewhere interesting across the globe.
Tina Pritchard had this picture taken on her honeymoon in Ecuador, where she was holidaying with her new husband Brian. The photo was taken in Quito, which is the capital of the country. It lies on the equator and there is a monument in the city, which was built a few hundred years ago to commemorate the discovery of the equator.
Tina is stood on the ‘original’ equator but it was recently discovered that the original red line is in the wrong place and so is the monument.
If anyone is interested in helping with the campaign they should send any photographs to: Sunshine Radio campaign, Weston & Somerset Mercury, 32 Waterloo Street, Weston, BS23 1LW or e-mail them to newsdesk@thewestonmercury.co.uk
Log onto the Sunshine Radio website at www.sunshinehospitalradio.co.uk for more details.
T-shirts are available from Clobber at 17 Meadow Street, Weston, or can be ordered online through the Sunshine Hospital Radio website.
