GIVING YOUNG PEOPLE A VOICE! |
UKYP elections – who wins? YOU decide
6th December 2007
It’s coming to the end of the year, when festivities begin and with the draw of the New Year the celebration of new starts and new beginnings.
At North Somerset Youth Parliament HQ we are preparing for the elections for the new officers to represent you for the next year! It is your opportunity to vote for the person you want to represent your views, fight your corner and get you the best opportunities in North Somerset.
For the past two years the role of MYP and Deputy have been filled by both Lauren Fry and Joshua McTaggart, but as they move on to other things so a new MYP and Deputy must take the role.
This year there is an estimated 14 candidates - the most we have ever had! This, hopefully, will mean even more of you will get an opportunity to vote, with Barcode Youth Café being used as one of the many polling stations in North Somerset, as well as schools and youth clubs.
Elections will take place during the last two full weeks of January and we want to get you involved as much as possible. If your school or youth club has not yet registered to hold an election then contact Youth Matters and we can send you a form to do so. Make sure you pressure your headteacher into having an election - as it stands not all schools have signed up to hold an election. You only have until December 14 to do this, so get your election skates on!
Who wins - YOU DECIDE!
