Sea of pink

15th May 2008
WESTON’S beach was taken over by a sea of pink when around 2,000 girls and ladies took part in a charity event on Sunday.
The 5km Race for Life was held to raise money for Cancer Research UK and it was the fifth to be held on the town’s seafront.
Participants could do the race at their own pace by either walking, jogging or running and they were cheered on by the watching crowds.
Exercise classes were even held before the race to make sure everyone was properly warmed up.
There will be a total of 262 similar events being held around the country between May and July to help the charity reach its fund-raising target of £50million.
