Hitting the high notes in unsigned contest

13th March 2008

A SOLO artiste wowed the judges with her rendition of Celine Dion’s Where Is The Love to win a place in the semi finals of the national music talent contest, Live and Unsigned.
Jessie Montroe, of Bleadon, performed in front of a professional judging panel last month.
The 16-year-old beat numerous female solo competitors to get to the semi final to be held at St Georges Theatre, in Bristol, on March 29.
Jessie, who has been singing since she was five, said: “Celine Dion is my absolute idol and it felt great singing in front of the panel.  It would be a dream come true to get a record contract.”
The former Broadoak Mathematics and Computing College pupil will be competing against 15 other girls to get to the national final, being held this summer in London.
The winner will secure a record contract and the opportunity to record a track written by Lemar and Craig David’s producer, Mark Hill.
