Teen entrepreneur reaches national final

A BUDDING businessman has reached the final of a national competition after starting his own IT company aged just 16.

Michael Turner got to the final of the Shell LiveWIRE Young Entrepreneur of the Year contest after setting up his own computer business in Lympsham.

The 17-year-old, who left school when he was 16 to run his own business, beat off hundreds of competitors to gain a place in the London final.

Michael said: "While I did not win this year's award, I did meet a number of influential business people and have already gained business from being a part of the tough judging process.

"I'm keen to grow my business further and aim to do this over the coming years, so watch this space."

He was greeted at the final by Weston MP and shadow business minister John Penrose, who gave a keynote speech at the ceremony.
