New look for Somerset

04 November 2009

A NEW website will soon be launched to kick-start tourism in Somerset.

The site will be run by a specialist board of 18 directors who are prominent people in the trade and have the counties best interests at heart.

Chairman of the Somerset Tourism Association site, Bob Nicholson, said it will undergo a complete overhaul and will be central in promoting the activities of the tourism association.

He said: "We are all very excited about the launch of this new site and we expect it to be ready in January.

"We want to promote the county and attract more visitors."

The board of directors met on Tuesday to discuss the site and to decide on the 18th director to join the team - co-owner of the Weston's Grand Pier Michelle Michael.
