Tea up for Fairtrade shoppers

08 February 2010

CLAVERHAM shoppers are being urged to brew up to support developing nations next week.

The monthly market at the village hall, in Bishops Road, will be selling Fairtrade tea from 10am-12noon on February 20.

Market organiser Jean Watson said: "The idea is to get people to exchange foods that they buy every week for fairly-traded alternatives."

Their initiative is part of the Fairtrade Fortnight Big Swap, which runs from February 22 until March 7.

The market takes place every third Saturday of the month and features stalls selling items such as woodcrafts, cards, cakes, meat, cheeses and preserves.
