Vote for the Best of British

16 January 2010

WELL-LOVED celebrities have been leading a countrywide vote to find out what is best of British.

Famous faces such as Frank Bruno, Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen and Sir Steve Redgrave have been voting on www.greatbritishlife.co.uk to select their favourite heroes, inventions, food and places.

Sir Steven Redgrave voted for Isambard Kingdom Brunel in the person/hero category while Dragon's Den star Deborah Meaden said the Somerset Levels at sunrise was her favourite view.

Yorkshire puddings also seem to be a favourite among the celebrities, with backers including Eamonn Holmes and Frank Bruno.

Now members of the public are being asked to take to the polls and vote online on the Great British Life website.

Participants will automatically be entered into a draw to win one of 12 prizes including a Virgin balloon ride, a day's racing at Royal Ascot and luxury hotel breaks.

When visiting the website, voters can also use the portal to search for restaurant reviews in Devon, find bed and breakfasts in the Peak District or look for organic food shops in Chelsea.

So log on to www.greatbritishlife.co.uk before the polls close in February.
