Road to nowhere

A BEADY-EYED resident spotted this diversion sign - which sends drivers down into Weston Quarry.

The sign was put up by highways workers from North Somerset Council, to divert drivers in South Road while work on the seafront is being carried out.

But Westonian Brian Austin says the sign looks like drivers should turn into the quarry gates.

A spokesman for North Somerset Council said: "We haven't had any reports of drivers heading into the quarry, but we will look into the positioning of the sign.
