Fire at a holiday flat in Kewstoke

FIREFIGHTERS were called to a fire in a holiday flat in Kewstoke on Saturday night.

The occupant was out at the time of the blaze and neighbours raised the alarm when they saw smoke coming from the property at Kew Lodge in Crookes Lane just after 11pm.

Two pumps from Weston attended and found a small fire in the bedroom. Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze.

The bedroom was damaged by the fire and there was smoke damage to the rest of the property.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
