Doctor visits Clevedon school
27 November 2009
THE topic of heads, shoulders, knees and toes came alive for children at a Clevedon school when they were visited by a doctor.
Former pupil of All Saints' School, Cara Mulcahy, visited the All Saints Lane site for talk to pupils in years three and four about her job.
She also answered some quite inquisitive questions including, if the heart looks after the other organs by giving them blood, what looks after the heart?
The children were taught how to find their pulse and could listen through a stethoscope to her heart beat and the air rushing in and out of her lungs.
Class teacher Emily Downing said: "It was very exciting to meet such a successful ec-pupil and the children also all enjoyed asking her questions about her time at All Saints'."
To work on their literacy, all the pupils wrote to Cara to thank her for visiting.
