Fantastic Mr Fox - The Curzon

STOP-MOTION animation based on the Roald Dahl classic, Fantastic Mr Fox (PG), will be shown at The Curzon Community Cinema this weekend.

It follows Mr and Mrs Fox, who live in an idyllic home life with their son Ash and visiting nephew.

However, Mr Fox sneaks back into his old ways as a sneaky chicken thief, endangering not only his family, but the whole animal community.

Trapped underground, the animals band together to fight evil farmers Boggis, Bunce and Bear, who are determined to capture Mr Fox at any cost.

The film will be shown at 2pm on Saturday and Sunday.

* A secret love affair between the English poet John Keats and the girl next door is portrayed in another film to be shown in Clevedon this week.

Bright Star (PG) is set in London in 1818 when 23-year-old Keats meets Fanny Brawne, an out-spoken student of high fashion.

This unlikely couple began at odds, he thinking her a stylish minx, while she was unimpressed not only by his poetry but also by literature in general.

However, when Fanny heard that Keats was nursing his seriously ill younger brother, he efforts to help touched Keats and when she asked him to teach her about poetry he agreed.

The poetry soon became a romantic remedy that worked not only to sort their differences by also to fuel an impassioned love affair.

When Fanny's alarmed mother and Keats' best friend finally awake to their attachment the relationship already had an unstoppable momentum.

Intensely and helplessly absorbed in each other, the young lovers were swept deeply into powerful new sensations at the same time as their troubles mounted.

When Keats fell ill a year later the tow young lovers faced not marriage but separation.

Starring Ben Whishaw, Abbie Cornish and Kerry Fox, Bright Star, directed by Jane Campion, will be show at The Curzon Community Cinema from Friday until December 3.
