A Royal Navy aircraft engineer has claimed he saw a disc-shaped object floating before it flew off at high speed. In a report in the Telegraph 25-year-old Michael Madden says he was with his colleague when he saw the alien craft on Sunday at around 9.50pm. It hovered for around three minutes above junction 21. Familiar with many types of planes, he said the UFO was like nothing he had seen before in his life. 01/07/2008, 6:02 PM lemoncakes Joined on 09/06/2008 Weston-super-Mare Posts 264 Re: More UFO sightings by Weston Yikes - that's scary - I wonder if they read forums :-O I had a UFO encounter about 18 years ago in Berrow, motorway Police on the M5 in Taunton spotted it and and at the Burnham Junction - no idea if it got as far as Weston - but the one I saw would have been visable from Weston, Bristol airport reported a blip at the same time of the morning that I saw this 'silent' explosion outside followed by a 'red thing' hovering about my window (looked like it was trying to get in !) before it shot off over the roof. What I saw was about the same time that the Belgium Airforce were chasing 'black triangles' about - so it could be some sort of miltitary craft doing the rounds and scaring the locals - as i can't beleive that tecnology in aircraft hasn't progressed since the 1970's after all the stealth bomber started trials in the late 70's - it was the mid 80's (or later ?) before anyone admitted test flights were being carried out. Holographic / projection techniques have probably got much better by now aswell as many other sensory distortions - with sound or light. either that....or we are not alone.... cue x-file music :) I'm a Video blogger and an Internet Thingy too! Therefore, I would be interested in hearing from anyone who noticed anything unusual around the time of the reported sighting (even from those living in the area who didn't notice anything odd , for that matter!) I was returning from my night shift in Bristol southbound along the M5 to Weston, time was 6.20am one June morning in 2001. Unusually I was alone on the road in the early morning when i saw what seemed to be a meteor going at great velocity parallel to my car at a distance of 20 feet. I t appeared to be on fire with yellow sparks trailing behind. It then stopped and I caught up with it, and it started along matching my speed for some minutes. It occured to me when I turned off at Junction 21 I would turn into its path as its trajectory was very low. I turned as I was tired and did not want to miss turn off so if I crashed into it then too bad! As I turned into Junction 21 the object accelerated at a considerable velocity upwards and vanished. I've often thought of this since and can think of no rational explanation!   Barry Putland
