forum suggestion - limiting post editing
Reply Quote
Is there a way to limit the amount of editing a person can do to their forum posts - like after a certain amount of time they can't go in a change their point of view - making a thread out of context for a new reader ?

Just asking as - I've had a couple of times now that the original post has gone or been post edited by the author - leaving my point of view kind of hanging in mid-air.

I just remember from other forums that "trolls" and "flamers" often make use of this to stir up trouble, then they run off to the next forum and do a similar thing - just wondered if there was a time limit gizmo - that was long enough to correct spellings / missing letters, but short enough to prevent complete deletion of a post once it has been replied to by others using the reply feature ?

By the way I think the forum is alot better since it was opened up for instant replies and anons, rather than going through a mod each time so I wouldn't want to see that change !:)
