Broadoak Leavers 1975-Bleadon Girl Guides 1970's
Reply Quote

Hi,

We are a group of friends who all attended the Grammar School/Broadoak in the early 70's, and/or were members of Bleadon Guides around the same time.

We will be having a get together this summer, probably in July, and would like to invite anyone that remembers any of us and would like to come along for a few laughs. Actually, if the past couple of meetings are anything to go by, quite a lot of laughs!!

If you remember Sue Frost, Gill Hutchings, Diane Elson, Christine Durston, Hilary Sutton, Heather Tabrett or Grace Helliar please get in touch if you'd like to come along.

We have been trying to find out any news on "long lost friends" that we've not heard from for many years.

If any of you are reading this, please leave us an update, even if you never want to see any of us again!

Francis Smith - Used to live at Uphill.

Anne Cruse - Used to live at Bleadon and we think may be living in Worle somewhere?

Gail Huburn - Used to live at Burnham?

Wendy Trower Foyan - Lived nearly next door to Broadoak.

Stephanie and Lesley Whittle - Used to live at Uphill? Steph joined the policeforce.

Any news would be appreciated.

Hi,

I knew Lesley Whittle for many years and lost track  of her. A couple of years ago I met up with her. She was living in Bedford. She moved not long after that and I have now lost contact with her again. I know she was planning to go back to Weston and was going to stay with her sister there until she found somewhere of her own. If you have managed to find  her I would love to renew my contact with her.

I am looking for any living member of the family of Mrs .O.M.Durston who lived at 4 Wellington Road, Taunton in 1946. I have the Pilot's Flying Logbook and photo album of her son (presumably) F/Lt E.J.Durston RAF who was killed in action in 1942, which came into my possession through a family connection. I should be grateful if Christine Durston, or anyone else who can help, would contact me at byrne20@btinternet.com or phone me at (020) 8947 1346. This is not a business transaction for money:  if I can't find a home for these moving relics with the Durston family I will present them to the collection held by the RAF Museum at Hendon.

(Mr) EUGENE  BYRNE
