Pier plan approved!

Just minutes ago, Weston's fire-ravaged Grand Pier secured planning permission for a new £34million pavilion.

Wonderful news. Congratulations to Kerry and Micheal Michael; the town of Weston is proud that you are moving ahead so quickly to replace the Pier.

I so look forward to taking my children onto the pier and to sitting in the sun enjoying the best attraction in the west country.

I hope that all the residents of Weston show their appreciation and continue to give their full support to such a wonderful project.

And for those that still want to moan; "go and get a life; preferavly a long way away".

It would be useful if when building starts, a second webcam could be installed. I'm sure there are many people throughout the UK who would like to "tune in", watch progress, and no doubt plan a trip to visit Weston.

Great news indeed, more so because the new design is going to be white instead of the rather unpleasant pastel shades previously proposed (the pier will instead be full of colour at night thanks to advanced lighting, etc).
