Oooh, careful Sean - when I made mention of Grand Pier's 'spelling' in the past, everyone else told me I was a bully...
Not focusing particularly on his (or her) spelling, but rather on the nature of the posts... taking Stuart Campbell's piece on Birnbeck and claiming it as something they'd written was not wise, as it was something I'd linked to on both the Grand Pier and the Birnbeck threads in the last few days... I suspect that the rather odd grammar etc. is deliberate: trolling is not amusing - well it doesn't amuse me anyway.

Re: Grand Pier Webcam
Apologies for the problems again at the weekend with the webcam - our head office is upgrading our servers and in the process our webcam keeps getting locked out.
But they are fully aware of this problem and are keeping an eye on it and in the near future it should be on a better server that very rarely has any problems....

Oooh, cheeky, are the ears of the crew at Rouen Road burning? ;-)
I'd not logged on to the webcam for a week or so, and am shocked this morning to see quite how much progress has been made. The site is virtually clear - don't think there can be more than one or two more days' work for the demolition team. They have done a cracking job.
(Also, very pleased to note the camera angle has been changed to a head-on view - will make watching the rebuilding fascinating. I hope they are able to get started soon.)
Sorry about the frozen image - Archant had a 'serious network fault' over the weekend and the effects are still being sorted out - one of these is that all the webcams in the company have frozen because the image has become locked. The central IT team is fixing everything so it should be unlocked shortly! Clare
excuses excuses its getting a bit tireing can you not have a back-up webcam on a different network instead of archant someone like the grand pier itself it is so rude that there has been no explanation until today the webcam has been down since friday tea time , why dont you have 2 webcams one with archant and 1 sponsored by someone ??????
The webcam froze at 6.30pm on Saturday, not Friday, and we don't work Sundays so there was an explanation at the earliest opportunity. And webcams that are designed for remote use externally are quite expensive so getting a second one as a "back-up", however nice an idea that is, is not as easy as it sounds and not realistic
