EVEN more acts have been confirmed for Weston’s 10th T4 On The Beach – and we’ve grilled fresh-faced T4 frontman Will Best about the line-up.

Star singer-songwriter and number one selling Taio Cruz will be hitting the stage on the sands on July 1 alongside upcoming boy band Lawson and storming girl group Stooshe.

Will Best told the Mercury his thoughts leading up to the big day.

He said: “It’s my first T4 On The Beach and I’m really excited to be coming to Weston.

“Just to be able to walk onto a stage and tell thousands of people ‘hello Weston’, is going to be a great feeling and I think it’s quite an iconic thing.

“I am very excited, maybe over excited, like a small child, because it is the birthday, the 10th anniversary - so I’m expecting balloons and giant cakes.”

Will lifted the lid on the news that former T4 presenters Vernon Kay – now front man of ITV’s All Star Family Fortunes – and June Sarpong will be making an appearance at the event.

Will added: “I’ll have to tell them ‘this is my turf now.”

Aside from familiar T4 faces, the day will also see British rapper Devlin and grime artist Skepta join Britain’s Got Talent winners Ashley and Pudsey on a star-studded bill which also includes Tulisa, The Wanted, Marina and the Diamonds and Wretch 32.

Will added: “Just to get all of those people together in that space with all the best British pop stars.

“British pop at the moment is really exciting.

“Labrinth is always great live, and The Wanted are a lovely bunch of guys, I’m sure they will get all the girls screaming.

“I’m particularly interested in seeing Maverick Sabre, he’s an amazing talent and I think he will silence the crowds – in a good way.

“In a way I am a bit nervous as well as excited, as I’m also appearing in front of 40,000 people, but then I get nervous about everything, I’m even nervous about this conversation.

“My family are from Dorset so I know the South West quite well but I’m really looking forward to seeing the new pier.”

T4 On The Beach is coming to Weston on July 1, hosted by T4 presenters Jameela Jamil, Nick Grimshaw, Georgie Okell, Matt Edmondson and Will Best.

Also confirmed for the event are Alexandra Burke, Dappy, Connor Maynard, Rita Ora, Professor Green, Rizzle Kicks, Little Mix, Cover Drive and stars of E4’s Made in Chelsea.

Tickets are available from the Channel 4 website www.channel4.com/t4 at @t4witter and the T4 Facebook page.

  • Request: Good music this year please? Why does it have to be all manufactured, soulless, lazy pop music? Why only appeal to people who don't really care about music? Sure it will make money, which is clearly the only reason, but festivals with GOOD music would make more.
