The Weston Repair Café helped raise £600 for the Weston Foodbank.
On November 11, the café, based in Christ Church in Montpelier, marked its first anniversary since reopening after Covid-19 lockdown.
During this period, it received over 200 items for repair or advice, helping to keep them out of the landfill.
Community volunteers played a commendable role in raising the funds.
Generous donations received subsequently enabled the handing over of a sizeable cheque to the Weston Foodbank's manager, Frederique.
Frederique expressed gratitude saying: "I am delighted to receive such a large donation from another community-led project.
"This will help us to continue supporting people in our town with essentials as winter approaches."
Alongside this, the Repair Café also managed to contribute £350 to the Christ Church’s fund aimed at providing power-assisted doors for better pushchair and wheelchair access.
The café team had a lot of fun while performing this community service, making new friends, and serving excellent cakes and refreshments.
To take part in their cause or for a simple cup of tea, they welcome all newbies.
