LOCKING Preschool has officially become part of the Extend Learning Academies Network (ELAN).
Following 52 years in the Parish Hall, in February 2020 Locking Primary School provided the preschool with a purpose built facility specifically designed for early years education and learning within the grounds of the school.
This has made the transition from preschool to school much easier for children, who are able to benefit from a modern facility and an expansive outdoor learning area.
Until now, Locking Preschool has been run by a voluntary parent-led committee.
The preschool staff remains unchanged, although they will now benefit from the Trust's pension scheme and benefits package.
On April 17, a stay and play session will take place to give parents and carers a chance to meet the wider Locking team.
The ELAN network is made up of schools and preschools in Banwell, Bournville, Locking, Oldmixon, Mead Vale, Mendip Green, Milton Park, Walliscote and Windwhistle.
