BRISTOL Airport has confirmed that its e-Gates are now back up and running after a nationwide issue yesterday (Tuesday, May 7).

Border Force experienced an issue which impacted passengers being processed.

This resulted in longer wait times for holidaymakers.

Speaking yesterday, a Bristol Airport spokesperson said: "Border Force is currently experiencing a nationwide issue which is impacting passengers being processed through the Border.

"As a result of this, e-Gates are not available and wait times may be longer than normal. Our teams are supporting to minimise impact where possible."

If you are travelling today, you can expect to move through the Border as normal.

An update reads: "Following the Border Force national outage reported yesterday, all systems including e-Gate's are now back up and running. Customers arriving today can expect to travel through the Border as normal.

"We'd like to thank all affected customers for their patience."
