A VANDALISED toilet block will be temporarily fixed with parts from another public toilet while a council waits for repairs to be carried out.

Coin machines and hand-driers at Weston Town Council’s public toilets in Clarence Park were ripped out by vandals on June 8 and have been closed since then.

Repairs are expected to cost £4,877 and will take around three to four weeks once the council’s insurance claim is accepted.

The council’s policy and finance committee agreed to replace the coin system from one toilet in Grove Park as a temporary measure.

Until that has been done, St Paul’s Church in Walliscote Road has made its toilet facilities available to the council during its opening hours to ensure there is a working toilet in the area.

The council agreed to accept the church’s offer until the coin machine from Grove Park is installed.
