A Weston musician has invited Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to spend the first day of their honeymoon in the town so they can attend a fundraising gig.

Alex Lipinski and his band are holding a ‘Royal Bedding Day’ gig at Loves Café, in West Street, on May 20 in response to a call for musicians to hold concerts and festivals to support the homeless.

The Musicians Against Homelessness (MAH) campaign has launched the fundraising idea following the news the streets of Windsor will be cleared of homeless people around the time of the royal wedding.

Alex and Loves owner Anna Southwell have written to the couple to invite them to the event.

The invitation states: “The couple may wish to take a romantic donkey ride on the beach or maybe even stroll along the promenade of The Grand Pier.”

Tickets for the gig are due to go on sale on March 1 and can be purchased online from www.lovesweston.co.uk
