A local artist will showcase her interactive art work at an Axbridge Museum.

During Somerset Arts Week local artist Andrea Oke will display her work at King John’s Hunting Lodge, in The Square.

The work was inspired by the large collection of ancient manuscripts which are housed at the Somerset Records Office.

For the first time visitors will be able to hear recordings of the original stories which inspired Andrea’s work by using their smart phones, which she hopes will explore a ‘new dimension’ of her work.

During the exhibition some of the documents will return to the museum to be displayed alongside the art.

Andrea said: “I want to bring the stories back to Axbridge.

“You can view the work without a phone and there are games for younger audiences to play.”

The exhibition will be open from today (Thursday) until October 8.
