VILLAGERS will fly thousands of miles to help those in need.
Representing St Georges Community Church, Brian Humphreys and Chris Brown are off to Kenya in June to work with the poor and crippled in the village of Ulumbi.
This will be Brian’s seventh visit and Chris’ third.
In 2008, they visited just after 1,500 people were killed during disputed presidential elections and Brian was baptised before 100 villagers.
In 2010 they returned to run a course for 40 pastors in the newly-completed community centre that is a school on weekdays and a church on Sundays.
This year two further courses are planned and another water project is to be completed.
They will be repairing a crumbling water spring to ensure clean water for 1,500 villagers in Sadiada.
Brian said: “We grumble about a possible hosepipe ban, but they risk having no clean water at all.”
Anyone who wants to support Brian and Chris can email brianandirene@sky.com or phone Brian on 01934 523864.
