A WESTON man has been arrested on drug charges after police carried out a search at his flat this afternoon (Thursday).

The 27-year-old suspect was taken into custody and charged on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply when officers attended the property in Moorland Road, where they found what they believed to be a quantity of the drug.

Neighbourhood officers were joined by a drug dog and handler as well as specialist search teams in their operation, which began at around 2.15pm.

Seargent Mark Jenkinson said: “Our communities tell us when there are problems with drug crime in their area and we listen and act on that information.

“PCSOs are visiting neighbouring homes this afternoon to inform and reassure residents about today’s police action.”
