TWO men have been arrested after a suspected armed robbery at a village post office.

The alleged raid happened at 2.30pm on Friday when the duo walked into Lympsham Post Office and made off with some cash.

They then left the scene in Lympsham Road in a vehicle before the police were called.

A police spokesman said: “Two men, who are thought to have been armed, went into the store and made off with money.

“Anyone with information should contact us on 101.”

He confirmed that two men, one aged 43 and the other 28, have been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

They have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The post office was previously broken into in the early hours of February 21, when the intruders fled the scene with a small amount of cash.
