The organisers behind a popular art weekend have shown their support for emerging local talent.

The Cheddar Arts Fringe Festival is in its fourth year and is planned to be bigger and better than ever before with more than 30 artists, sculptors, authors, potters and painters expected to exhibit.

But the artists have also shown their support for students, as Jennifer McDonald and Imogen Low from Kings of Wessex School in Cheddar and Winnie Atkinson Harris from Churchill Academy and Sixth Form will showcase their own work in the village’s library and café during the festival.

The event will also feature live music at The White Hart as well as a performance from dance troupe Beneath Our Feet at tourist attraction Cheddar Gorge and Caves.

The fringe festival will take place in venues across Cheddar from May 5-7 each day from 10am- 4pm.
