Police are hunting a Weston-super-Mare man wanted in connection with an assault.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary has appealed for information on 30-year-old David Purkiss, from the Bournville estate, after a man was assaulted in Weston.

Purkiss is white, 6ft tall and of medium build with brown hair and eyes.

He has a scar near his right eye and numerous tattoos, including one which reads ‘Zoe’ on the back of his neck.

A police spokesman said: “We believe Purkiss is likely to be in the Weston area.

“If you see him please do not approach him but instead call 999 immediately.”
