Food-lovers will be given a little slice of heaven this May when Foodies Festival returns to Bristol.

Foodies Festival. Foodies Festival.

This year two winners of the Great British Bake Off – Nadiya Hussain and Candice Brown – will be telling their tricks of the trade while other cake-makers, patisserie chefs, cocktail connoisseurs and high-quality restaurant chefs will be hosting demonstrations.

Foodies Festival launched in 2005 in Edinburgh and has since expanded to host 13 festivals across the country.

The Bristol Foodies Festival will feature numerous different areas including a healthy living zone, drinks theatre, street food avenue, producers’ market, demonstration tents and live music with pop-up bars.

A stellar line-up of top chefs, nutritionists, bakers, lifestyle coaches and vegetable-growers will be on hand to teach people how to make the most of British food.

People will be able to tuck in to savoury treats from around the world or for anyone with a sweet tooth there will be dozens of cakes and fine desserts on offer, including plenty of free samples from many of the artisan producers.

There will also be a children’s cookery school where youngsters can enjoy making their own pizza and cupcakes after bouncing around in the play area.

Foodies Festival will be on The Downs from May 12-14.

The festival will be open from 11am-7pm on May 12 and 13 and from 11am-5pm on May 14.

Day tickets, priced £8-10 for the day or £16-20 for the weekend, are available via www.foodiesfestival.com
