ONE of Weston's seafront beauty spots is being destroyed by vandals.Rozel Bandstand and the rockery gardens on the walkway around Marine Lake have been covered in offensive graffiti.Windows in the popular bandstand have been smashed and every single flower has been uprooted and stamped into the ground.Dean Harris, aged 29, of Manilla Crescent, said: "The area has a shelter and nice gardens but over the last few months it's been constantly vandalised."There is now racist and homophobic graffiti all over the rocks, the windows of the shelter have been smashed, the flowers have been uprooted and benches dedicated to people who have died have been vandalised. I've also seen some young people excreting on the floor."It's the same group of people doing the damage. What used to be a very nice corner has been reduced to a disgusting, dirty site by these vandals."I think it's time people were made aware of how awful things are getting in the town. I just can't believe how people can do that. It's absolutely awful." Mr Harris is keen to tidy up the area so it can be used again by visitors and is working with PCSOs from the town centre team to clean up the beauty spot.
