A Weston charity says it is ‘over the moon’ after it was given a grant to put towards new bikes.

The Weston Toy Library at St Anne’s Primary School, in West Wick, received £500 from the Go Kids Go! scheme.

Go Kids Go! was launched by the Weston Lions Club and the Mercury in 2012 to encourage Weston’s children to become more active. It hands out cash grants to worthy causes.

The group put their money towards new balance bikes and trikes for the children to use.

Chairman Dave Peddle said: “It has been excellent – we could not believe we had won and we were over the moon with our grant.

“We have bought some really lovely stuff.”
