Youngsters on Weston-super-Mare’s Bournville and Oldmixon estates got their hands dirty during the half-term break.

Boombox Youth Project partnered with North Somerset Council’s Better by Bike scheme and offered Bike Fix sessions on the estates.

The Boombox team also held workshops on arts and craft, filming and photography inside the Boombox Youth Mobile.

Project manager, Elaine Harris, said: “It was a very successful week across the two estates.

“Overall, 40 young people learnt how to fix a
puncture and conduct safety checks on their bikes and a total of 16 bicycles were fixed.

“It is important for people to learn more about the health and financial benefits of using cycling as a means of sustainable transport in their everyday lives.”
