EIGHT Weston bosses will be ‘locked up’ at the Grand Pier to raise money for Weston Hospicecare.

After completing some competition games on the pier’s rides to gain points, the bosses will be housed for two hours in their prison-themed cells.

They will be contained with nothing more than their laptop and mobile phone, where they will be allowed to make unlimited phone calls from 10am to raise the £400 bail to be released by the 3pm finish time.

The bosses taking part in this year’s event, which will take place on February 23, include; Gill Auden, manager of Weston Hospicecare, Colin Badcock, manager of DoubleTree by Hilton, Cadbury House in Congresbury, Kirsten Hemingway-Arnold, director of Digital Photo Studio Limited and Matthew Dolling, director of System Clenz.

The event will also include Terry Gilbert, manager of North Somerset Enterprise Agency, Gail Parsons, managing director of Vanguard Surveillance & Security, Tim Lamb, managing director in the McDonald’s franchisee and Laurence Haring, from Kilo Investments Ltd.

Gail Parsons said: “Weston Hospicecare is fantastic and really makes a difference to relatives in need, and also to the families.”

Last year’s event saw seven bosses raise £7,750 for the hospice in just one day, coincidentally enough to keep the hospice running with all its services for a whole day.
