AN EMERGENCY rescue attempt has been launched to find a missing four-year-old boy off the coast of Burnham this evening (Sun).
Search teams are looking for a missing four-year-old boy - photo submitted to iwitness24 by Patricia MacauleyThe coastguard, paramedics and police were called to the Esplanade at around 6pm and despite pulling the parents from the water, search teams have been unable to find the boy.
Coastguard helicopters and emergency services are still in attendance and the search is ongoing.
The Maritime and Coastguard Agency said: “A member of the public dialled 999 to inform Swansea Coastguard they had seen two adults go in the water to attempt to rescue a small child and that they needed medical assistance.
“Swansea Coastguard sent the Burnham Coastguard rescue team to the scene, along with the two Burnham RNLI lifeboats.”
