Construction work on a £4million clubhouse at Brean Golf Club has begun, with the site set to open in autumn this year.

The clubhouse, part of Brean Leisure Park, in Coast Road, will feature two function rooms, changing and shower rooms, a kitchen and a professional golf shop.

The venue will eventually become part of Brean Country Club, with plans in place to also build tennis courts and a bowling green on the grounds.

The park’s business development director, Kieran Spottiswoode, believes the venue will be able to hold big events in the future.

He said: “We are still in the early stages, but the building is progressing well.

“As well as being a fantastic golfing facility, we will be able to host weddings, business events and parties here for years to come.

“Our kitchen will serve a daily menu and will be able to cater for big events too.”

The clubhouse is on track to open later this year, and the redevelopment will also create further employment opportunities.
