Burnham-on-Sea Camera Club ended its final meeting of the year by naming its top snapper.

Paul Calcutt was awarded the honour after achieving the most competition wins in 2017.

Paul said: “I am delighted to receive this award.

“There was plenty of competition as there are a lot of talented photographers at this club, so to win it brings me great pleasure.”

The club was formed in 2010 and is open to anyone interested in photography, regardless of their level of skill or the medium they use.

Nearly all members use digital media, although a few still use traditional darkroom techniques, while several photographers have received major distinction from the Royal Photographic Society.

Meetings take place every Tuesday at the BAY Centre, in Cassis Close, and feature a variety of forms, with visiting speakers, regular competition nights, practical evenings, and members sharing their own projects.
