Royal wedding fever certainly hit one couple, who decided to renew their vows on the same day Prince Harry tied the knot.

Neil and Jayne Biddiscombe, of Burnham-on-Sea, had completed a park run at Apex Park when they decided to visit Highbridge’s St John’s Church, in Church Street, for an impromptu ceremony.

They originally got married in Wales in 1999.

Dressed in their running gear, the couple had their vows renewed by fellow runner Reverend Sharon Crossman.

The church was also hosting a wedding festival during the weekend, with more than 30 dresses on display.

Jayne said: “The decision was very much a spur-of-the-moment one, we worship at St John’s and have been friends with Sharon for many years.

“I was surrounded by beautiful dresses, but our decision was made so quickly I didn’t have time to change out of my running clothes.”
