A Burnham-on-Sea-born singer-songwriter has released a brand new EP.

Taylor Topham – known as Taylor T – has released a four track EP, Becoming, onto iTunes and Spotify.

His previous single, Almyrida, peaked at number 54 in the iTunes charts, and he is aiming to build on this success with his new material.

The 23-year-old’s musical journey began in Burnham after teaching himself to play guitar at a young age.

At the age of 16, Taylor started performing regularly at the Ritz Acoustic Club, in Victoria Street.

This gave him the confidence and platform to earn regular slots at various locations around the local area, including a live performance on BBC Radio Somerset in 2013.

Taylor then took a long break from playing and recording music to focus on his studies, and moved to Southampton to study for a degree in fitness and personal training, and later moved to Plymouth to complete a masters degree.

After his studies, Taylor picked up his guitar and began to gig again, creating songs mostly about his own life and experiences.

Speaking about his new release, Taylor said: “The EP is called becoming because I think in many ways we are all just becoming better versions of ourselves, developing who we are and striving to philosophise the lives we are living.

“I’ve made the EP cheap because I am way more concerned with spreading music as opposed to making money.

“I enjoy learning about life through music and experience, but more and more lately I’ve realised life is much more about enjoying the little beautiful moments, as opposed to long term goals and expecting too much from ourselves.”

Taylor is once again on his travels, and is currently residing in Australia.

“I’ve just bought a guitar to get involved with the busking and music scene in Byron Bay, New South Wales,” he said.

“Australia is treating me sweet, I’m having a beautiful time and I hope this will broaden my horizons.

“I aim to use the experiences to influence my future writing.”

Taylor T’s new release – Becoming EP – is available to buy on iTunes and to stream on Spotify.
