WINSCOMBE is home to the PA of the year, after one of its residents won the top accolade from a national trade magazine.

Dawn Carey, 42, won the award from Executive PA magazine at a London awards ceremony after she was nominated by the CEO of her company, Bristol-based health insurers National Friendly.

In nominating Mrs Carey, Richard Sear paid tribute to her organisational skills, creative ideas and all-round enthusiasm.

Mrs Carey said: “I am extremely delighted to win this award. It means a great deal to me. I’ve worked as a PA for over 20 years and I see this as recognition of the hard work and dedication I have put in.

“I thought being nominated by my boss was a great honour but to win overall was amazing.”
