A cake sale in Weston’s Bournville estate raised over £200 for the Springboard Opportunity Group.

Lyn Gilbert organised the event at the For All Healthy Living Centre, in Lonsdale Avenue, to raise money for the local children’s charity after learning about the funding challenges it faces.

Springboard support North Somerset children with disabilities and additional needs, from birth to five years.

Lyn said: “Springboard gave my grandsons care and support to achieve their early years experiences.

“We want to ensure that children have the same opportunities in the future.

“Springboard is not solely about supporting the child, but the families as well.”

Lyn will run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in March 2018 to raise more money for the charity.
