With the spring breeding season in full swing, it is likely that those out walking or in their gardens may come across baby birds or young animals that may be in distress.

Founder of the rescue centre in East Huntspill, Pauline Kidner, said: “We do rely on the general public to try and bring smaller casualties in themselves but very often we are required to send a response driver out to collect when this isn’t possible.”

Sir Terry Pratchett recently launched a Call of the Wild Appeal to raise £4.4 million to build the wildlife hospital and education centre at Secret World.
