Caring for carers at Hospicecare

PEOPLE who commit their lives to looking after their loved ones will be rewarded this weekend with a free pampering session.
Weston Hospicecare is holding the special event during Carers’ Week, which runs from Monday to June 15.
The charity is hosting a relaxation session and offering cream tea so carers of hospice patients can unwind.
Director of patient services John Bailey said: “There are hundreds of people in our community providing unpaid care for a loved one, many of whom are caring for someone who has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.
“Carers’ Week is dedicated to recognising the incredibly tough journey carers are on and another excuse for us to make a fuss of them.”
Carers will meet others in a similar position and have a chance to talk to a Weston Hospicecare staff member about their situation.
